Robert Hess is a combat-disabled U.S. Army veteran and the founder of the Disabled Veteran Empowerment Network (DVEN), a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of disabled veterans. Through DVEN and its flagship motorsports initiative, Rally4Vets, Robert is building a movement that uses track events, road rallies, and virtual racing to raise awareness of veteran suicide and fund life-saving programs, including the provision of trained service dogs.
A lifelong champion of purpose-driven leadership, Robert engages veterans and allies alike through action, advocacy, and camaraderie. His initiatives — including the annual Top Dog Championships, the Be The One cross-country rally, the Rally4Vets Fellowship, and the annual Veteran Awards (The Vettys) — connect thousands in a shared mission: We drive so they survive.
A retired senior executive with global business experience and an MBA from UCLA Anderson, Robert blends professional acumen with grassroots passion to create lasting impact. On ParadeDeck, he shares insights, stories, and behind-the-scenes access to his mission to serve those who’ve served.
