Welcome to Troopster Quick Takes, where we will share our journey in supporting the Armed Forces community, deployed service members, military spouses, and families. Delivering military care packages around the world.

Military care packages have been a beloved tradition for decades, providing military service members with a little bit of comfort from home during their service. These packages are sent by loved ones, organizations, and even strangers, and they serve as a reminder to military members that people back home care about and appreciate their service.

Sending care packages to the military began during World War II when a businessman named Bill Hogan proposed an official military care package program. The program, called the "CARE Package," sent millions of packages to American service members serving overseas. These packages were filled with toiletries, snacks, and other essentials, as well as letters of encouragement and support.

Care packages can include a variety of items, depending on the needs and preferences of military service members. Some common items include toiletries, snacks, books, magazines, and entertainment items like DVDs or games. Additionally, care packages may contain seasonal items or special items for holidays, such as Christmas or Easter.

One of the benefits of sending care packages is that it can boost morale. Being far from home and loved ones can be tough, but receiving a care package can provide a bit of comfort and remind military members that they are appreciated.

The idea of sending care packages to military members caught on, and today, there are many organizations and individuals who send packages to military members all over the world. Some organizations specialize in sending care packages to deployed service members globally, such as Troopster.org, a military non-profit founded by CEO and former Navy veteran Chelsea Mandello. Chelsea created the ideas for Troopster while deployed. Here is her story in her own words:

Troopster is a 501(c)3 cause-driven organization, founded in 2015 and has sent over forty thousand care packages. The Troopster Vision is to be the household name of military deployment kits for the 1.3 M U.S. service members and their families – Beginning with a goal to send 20,000+ packages each year to service members deployed around the world. with a goal of twenty thousand per year. The company is 100% veteran owned and operated.

Sending care packages can also be a way to give back to those that have given so much. Our military sacrifice a lot to serve their country, and sending a care package is a simple way to show appreciation for their service. It's also a great way to support military families, who may also benefit from the items and encouragement provided in the care packages.

Military care packages are a wonderful tradition that provides comfort and support to military serving far from home. Whether sent by loved ones, organizations, or strangers, these packages are a reminder that military members are appreciated and valued.
