"Opening up the gates in College & Business" delves into various aspects of education, with a particular focus on the experiences of minority students in higher education. The host introduces the guest, Dr. Elizabeth Palacios, who shares her journey as a first-generation student from San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Palacios discusses her experiences navigating the education system, addressing biases, and her efforts to create supportive academic environments for underserved students.

Have you ever told your high school guidance counselor your life goal and the college you wanted to attend, only to be told that college is very expensive and given where you come from you should lower your expectations? And then added I suggest you look into cosmetology school or become a professional manicurist or be a laborer in a steel mill so you don’t end up on welfare.

How would you feel after that conversation? What would you do? My guest Dr. Elizabeth Palacios said, watch me.
