I'm Cortney Berling, a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, running coach, momma of 2, and military spouse! And an influencer on ParadeDeck.com.  I want to introduce my philosophy of, Eat Well. Run Better. The keys to Fitness and Nutrition.

I ran cross country and track at The University of Cincinnati. My passion for running extends far beyond the sport because through running I met my husband and made lifelong friends.

Eat Well. Run Better. The keys to Fitness and Nutrition

Running has been a significant part of my life, but years of underfueling left me sidelined with injury and eventually led to infertility.  I am on a mission to help runners heal their relationship with food, fuel their training right, and run their best race while living their best life!

I am originally from Medina, Ohio but since my husband joined the United States Marine Corps in 2012 we have lived all over the US! We are currently stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Because of my time as a military spouse I have developed a passion for helping our nation's heroes. I coach military members and aspiring military members by developing individualized nutrition & running plans so they can be ready when called upon.

When I am not busy coaching my clients you can find me playing with my kids, exploring the Japanese culture, hiking, and paddle boarding!

Education background: I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from The University of Cincinnati, completed my Dietetic Internship at The Cleveland Clinic, and obtained my Master’s of Public Health from Liberty University.

My goal is to help runners hit new PRs, stop putting restrictions on your body but to start performing, and to love your body! A few tips I have for Eat Well. Run Better. is by providing expert advice. As a scholar in Nutrition I share knowledge about running and how to train effectively and safely to avoid injuries. By sharing my own story on how I have achieved my goals, overcame obstacles, and learned to love and nurture my body, I hope to encourage my followers to keep pushing themselves and believe in their own abilities.

By encouraging healthy habits, you must encourage yourself to adopt healthy habits like eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and managing stress. These habits will not only help you achieve your running goals but also improve your overall health and wellbeing. Other habits to have a great run include preparation. Place your clothes the night before, get a good amount of sleep prior to your morning run that way you are good and ready. Next, have a pre snack and hydrate before. Fuel is very important and fundamental for a good run. Lastly, set an intention for the run and your health.

By promoting body positivity I hope to help my followers develop a positive relationship with their bodies. I encourage them to focus on what their bodies can do rather than how they look. I always say Running is a gift. Not a punishment. By focusing on overall health and taking care of yourself  rather than doing things because you are unhappy with the way you look, you can shift your perspective and intention from self disgust to self respect.

Last but certainly not least, my tip to Eat Well Run Better. is to build a supportive community! Create a community where runners can connect, support each other, and share their experiences. This can be done through social media groups, online forms, or in-person meetups. A supportive community can help runners stay motivated and inspire each other to achieve their goals.

Miles to go,
